It began with a small class of 16 students, holding sessions in an upper room of the First Baptist Church of Fort Worth, with the primary goal of training ministers and missionaries for the World Fundamental Baptist Fellowship. The institution underwent several name changes—including Bible Baptist Seminary—before adopting the name Arlington Baptist College and relocating to its present campus in Arlington in 1955. The current campus is particularly notable for being the site of the former Top O' Hill Terrace casino, and the university has preserved historic features like its original guardhouse and tea garden. The institution officially transitioned to its current name, signifying its academic growth, in 2017.
